Pledges and Recurring Giving

Pledging. A pledge is a good-faith estimate of one’s giving to the church for the upcoming year. Being asked for a pledge provides each Calvary household with a focused time to consider their outward expressions of God’s provision, call, and instruction, specifically around financial giving. Our combined pledges also are the major tool Calvary uses to plan annual budgets. Making a pledge each year is extremely helpful to Calvary’s leadership (calvarygolden.net/pledge).

Recurring Giving. Recurring giving is pre-arranged regular electronic giving. Setting up a recurring gift is not itself a pledge, though it is a frequent way many households fulfill their pledge. Many find setting up recurring giving to fulfill one’s pledge is both practical and a good spiritual practice.

Thus, two things:

  • Submitting a pledge each year is how Calvary knows what you are planning to give.

  • Modifying or updating one’s recurring giving is needed if your pledge changed from the prior year.

How to Modify Recurring Giving

  1. Visit www.calvarygolden.net/give on your smartphone or computer.

  2. Choose the Your Account icon at the top right.

  3. Choose Manage Account, if that appears.

  4. If asked for login credentials, enter them (usually a cell phone number and a security code delivered via text).

  5. On the welcome page, navigate to the Recurring gifts section (scroll down on a smartphone/tablet).

  6. Choose “Edit recurring” to update your giving; save when complete; or click “Add recurring gift” to start one.

You can also set up additional recurring gifts, pause gifts, and delete gifts in the Manage Account interface.

How to Change Your Giving Method or Details

To change your bank account, debit/credit card details, or to change how you give, begin by logging in to calvarygolden.net/give on your smartphone or computer (see steps 1-3 above). Then,

  1. Choose the hamburger menu on the top left (see screenshot)

  2. Choose Payment Methods

  3. Choose Add payment method

This payment method can be use for individual gifts or, if you want to change your payment method for a recurring gift, also do the following:

  1. Return to the home/summary screen via the hamburger menu

  2. Scroll down to your recurring gift(s) and choose edit

  3. Choose edit next to the payment method

  4. Choose your new payment method and save
